The Vechtdal is a beautiful area
The area around Hardenberg, Lutten and Slagharen is located in the beautiful Vechtdal valley. It offers great cycling, hiking, mountain biking, boating, swimming and motorcycling. It is an area with lots of forest water and rural elements.
The Vecht valley is known for its many beautiful farms where you can taste and buy local produce.
Cycling and hiking routes
A nature reserve on a rubbish dump. That thought alone makes walking in Collendoorn something special. Because let's face it, walking on hills under which mountains of plastic, old toys, household goods and other rubbish are hidden, is not something everyday. Yet surprisingly, there is no sign of that.
The Hardenberg - Beerze round trip is fully signposted with separate signs. A varied route along and over the Vecht, through Beerze and the Oldemeijer. You can start at any point along the route. If you follow the signs, you will automatically return to the starting point.
The entire 12.8 km route is signposted with special shields with yellow/pink arrows. It is recommended to start the route at the Oldemeijer. The route can be walked in both directions. Parking is available at the Oldemeijer.
To introduce children, residents and tourists to art and culture in their own area, an art route has been created. The route, through the centre of Hardenberg, takes you past all kinds of artworks and sculptures. Would you like to walk the art route? Then you can download it here.

Activities
Have a day out at Slagharen Amusement Park. A fun park with various attractions, and within walking distance from the Bembom Hoeve. Tickets can be booked online.
The Pond Garden was created in 1987/88 by Ada Hofman. An old farmhouse with barns and meadow was transformed into a garden paradise for humans and animals with a special ambiance. The garden is also very well known internationally.
Stunning flowers, mature trees and inspiring architecture: at Mien Ruys, you will go on an adventure in 30 gardens. Her life's work is known for experiments in design, planting and materials as far back as 1924.
On the family farm Hoeve Bosman, delicious farmhouse ice cream is prepared with passion. From daily fresh milk from their own dairy cows and quality products, the ice cream is made in many flavours. They also have their own cheese from meadow milk, made by cheese master Jan and in several varieties.
Asparagus farm 'Het Nijenhuis' can be found in Overijssel. The atmospheric farm in Diffelen is located in the beautiful Vechtdal area in Salland. In the asparagus season, you can buy day-fresh asparagus in the new farm shop.
The Kruidenhoeve is located in the beautiful Reest valley in an authentic farmhouse. The gardens have been free of poisons, pesticides and artificial fertilisers since 1980. This created gardens in the 1990s with many medicinal herbs and plants that can be visited in summer.
Catching water creatures and then using a search card to find the right name. Or use binoculars to take a closer look at birds and butterflies. For everyone who wants to learn more about the beautiful nature in Hardenberg and its surroundings and wants to have a nice day out, a visit to the De Koppel nature activity centre is highly recommended.
Get into a canoe and explore the beautiful Vecht valley on the Vecht river. You can hire a canoe for half a day or for a whole day. There are different routes for beginners and experienced canoeists.
Gramsbergen is located in north-east Overijssel, on the N34 (Zwolle-Emmen), the Zwolle-Emmen railway line and the Almelo-de Haandrik canal. Gramsbergen is a town on the Vecht. There are several things to do and see. Visit the Museum Infocentre Vechtdal, sample local beers on the beautiful waterfront terrace at Mommeriete Brewery, visit the Orchard Church, or take a beautiful boat trip along the Vecht in The Vechtezomp.

Nature in the Hardenberg region gives you all the space you need to recharge and energise. Cruise on the Vecht. Cycle a nice route and cross with the ferries to complete your route. The real winter dippers plunge right into the water and go winter swimming at The Oldemeijer. Or walk the barefoot path at Nature activity centre De Koppel.

Haverkort food and drink in Slagharen is an atmospheric catering establishment with old-fashioned cosiness, conviviality and all that at an affordable price. In a charming historic building on the beautiful Meiboomsplein, they try to strike a balance between new & different, old & familiar. With a strong focus on origins and surroundings, they present the everyday at the cutting edge. The Woage has 1 Michelin star.

Cafeteria Lunchroom Emmy started in Slagharen in 1982. Before that, it was a small self-service shop. Back then, it was still a small snack bar, now it has developed into quite a modern space where they are happy to welcome you for a delicious quick, but good bite!
The Garden Room is all about nature: the plants you see around you also taste on your plate. The restaurant is located in the middle of the 50-year-old Priona Gardens. In an old greenhouse, chef Alwin Leemhuis, who was previously awarded two Michelin stars, cooks his special dishes with flowers, plants and herbs from the Gardens.
